If you’ve enjoyed a recent stroll through St Bartholomew’s Churchyard you might be curious about the appearance of stakes topped with blue hearts.
We had fun making them ourselves and they signify we are supporting the popular nationwide campaign to promote rewilding.
Allowing nature to flourish by monitoring and managing is dear to our hearts, so working with those who look after the Churchyard and with advice from expert Kathy Crouch, we are planning a seasonal calendar of special care to establish designated wild areas there.
We’re off to a good start - earlier in the year no less than 33 flowers and 6 grass species and plenty of butterflies had already been spotted.
Sowing Yellow Rattle seed and planting wild flower plugs in the churchyard as part of our Rewilding Crewkerne project.
